Very customer driven, honest and professional. Visited them for a second opinion after weve been quoted $1000+ at one of the local competitors - ended up paying $200 for some new bolts and been told that the other quote was a total rip off. Thanks for the honesty and saving our money!
Back on August 15th, my Nissan Patrol over heated leaving Emerald for Brisbane, so had RACQ take it to Hansens tyre & Mechanical only to find I had done the Radiator. Two days later I picked up my car with new radiator and water hoses; knowing that I had over heated the engine and could have done major damage to head, turbo or even the motor. I was so glad to find it was running ok when I collected my car. So the next day, Friday 17th August, I left Emerald once again for the trip home to Brisbane, when about 200 ks into the drive the engine got very loud and lost power. I pulled over in the dark early hours of the morning popped the bonnet to see a lot of oil all over the motor and intercooler. So immediately thinking that the overheating of the cracked radiator had caused the Turbo to blow or a cracked head or even the engine blown. I then decided that I would take the chance and push through to Roma, where I had more options. So after a very slow trip from Injune to Roma and with day light I could now get a better picture of the problem. After checking the radiator water for oil and the oil for water both where good , I just put it down to a blown Turbo, who wouldnt hey. I called the wife and my brother in Brisbane and they arranged a Hire car trailer ($175+ $65 for straps) for the next day through to Monday morning, and I was to stay in a $120 Hotel room for Friday night. My brother drove from Brisbane to Roma on Saturday 18th August and turns up around 1.30pm with the trailer. Loading up the Patrol and gave my brother $250 for fuel. Off we went on a very slow tow home getting to my place around 11.00pm that night.Thinking I would be up for costs from at least $1300 to about $3500, I left the Patrol parked at my place for 2 months while I saved up some cash. Last week I again hired the same trailer ($175) gave my brother $100 for fuel and he towed it from the Southside to far north Caboolture and dropped it off at my Nephews house. The plan was for the nephew to take the Patrol into his work where he is mechanic.A few days later I get the call to come up and test drive the Patrol and see if its back to performing normally, to which I did and it was running great again. I asked what the problem was then. He said the Mechanic who worked on your Radiator at Emerald caused it! He left the Intercooler Hose clamp and the turbo clamp both undone! This would have been done to get the Radiator out and to replace water hoses and dismantle and assemble housing under the Intercooler to remove the radiator. And the one feeding into the Intercooler blew off and oil went all over the motor causing it to run very loud and the oil to feed back into the exhaust manifold, also causing the Turbo Sensor to detect a fault and shut the Turbo down to limp mode or off.Hansens How could you miss putting hose clamps back on ? show very poor quality in you work performed by your staff there. So to say that I am really unpleased with Hansens work done on my car is an understatement, I am not happy at all.Chris
Had an engine warning light come on, Hansens attended to it for me within an hour of me calling.
RACQ. Very nice staff.
They are Useless was told they could put a motor and gearbox in which took 6 weeks and they only did half a job
